What is Messy Church?

Messy Church has been running in Orwell and Portmoak since August 2013 and continues to go from strength to strength.  Take a closer look at this page, which is full of photographs of what we’ve been getting up to!

So maybe you’re wondering: What is Messy Church...and why would my family want to come along?

Well, it’s "Church...but not as you know it!"...so says the official Messy Church website!

This statement sums up the ethos of Messy Church perfectly!  This is a new, exciting, fresh and family-friendly way of sharing the message of the Gospel in an informal and creative way.  We have had lots of great sessions, with themes around everything from the wonder of Creation, to advent, Our Messy Hero Samson and, most recently, our Easter Extravaganza.

This is a great event in which families have the opportunity to come along together, where adults and children alike can join in all the fun and get messy with the wide range of creative activities, and also hear about and encounter Jesus.   Why not put our next date in your diary and come along and take part?  We'd love to see you there.

**CHILDREN, REMEMBER TO BRING AN ADULT WITH YOU - AND MAKE SURE THEY GET MESSY TOO!**

A bit more about the background to Messy Church...

  2. it's open to people of all ages**, whether they already attend a church or not

  3. it's a church, not a craft club, that helps people encounter Jesus as Lord and Saviour

  4. it's found across the world
